How to: Change distance between default tabs.
Solution:
Type a new number in the 'Default Tab Stops' box in the 'Tabs' dialog box, then repeat the steps for a template to change globally.
1) Change the default tabs for the current document:
a) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Tabs...'. (The Tabs dialog box appears.)
b) Type a new number in the 'Default Tab Stops' box.
c) Click 'OK'.
2) Change the default tabs in all documents:
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The Open dialog box appears.)
b) Select 'Document Templates (*.dot)' from the 'Files of type' drop-down list box.
c) Select 'Normal.dot' from the 'Look in' list box.
NOTE: This template is usually in WINWORD\TEMPLATE directory.
3) Clear tab stops.
a) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Tabs...'. (The Tabs dialog box appears.)
b) Select the tab to be cleared from the 'Tab Stop Position' box.
c) Click 'Clear'.
d) Click 'OK'.
